If, for a fleeting moment, we were to pry our attention away from the glow of our screens, we could set out on a path, eyes wide open, through the city—a path that would shatter any illusion of social cohesion.
Every day, the powerful lock us up a bit more into their world of concrete, borders, mono-cultures, monitors, and algorithms. To the fate they have in store for us, we oppose a dangerous dream of limitless freedom. We want to fight against this prison-city and the techno-industrial dystopia it belongs to, here and now!
Holding the beautiful idea dearly in our hearts, we firmly believe that our means must match our ends. Against the mainstream current of politics—dialogue with institutions of power, strategic compromise, representation, and delegation—we propose the methods of self-organization and direct action to subvert the world around us.
This project requires that we first break the barriers of isolation. To do this, we must create spaces of encounter where subversives, outcasts, and the curious can communicate face to face. It is through exchange and confrontation that our ideas clarify. It is through the sharing of experiences that our practices sharpen. It is at the crossroads of ideas and practice that our consciences catch fire.
In plain words, we wish to create a space where we can share ideas freely, without mediation or censorship. A space that we give life to on our own terms with others who share a passion for total, uncompromising freedom. Far from the dull and lifeless digital humdrum, the touch of paper becomes a breath of fresh air. Books, pamphlets, and especially zines, are precious autonomous means of communication for sharing feral thoughts and boundless dreams. And what better way to both celebrate and experience our love for everything wild, DIY and printed than attending a zine fair?
