Holidays Are An Opportunity: Rail Sabotage

On the evening of the 25th in Montreal, we sabotaged two rail lines in solidarity with Wet’suwet’en Land Defenders. We were inspired by the communique " Glorious Rage: Rail Sabotage in Solidarity with the Wet’suwet’en " and its instructions on how to easily disrupt CN’s and CP’s rail infrastructure. We did it, so can you.

Glorious Rage: Rail Sabotage in Solidarity with the Wet’suwet’en

There is nothing left unsaid. RCMP Out. CGL off the Yintah. Defend the Wedzin Kwa. This is an act of genocide. An active genocide. An armed invasion by the colonial state. There is nothing left to say: they do not listen to words. So just do; that is what we have done. One recent evening, allies/accomplices went out into the night to pick up where others may have left off in the spring of 2020: targeting rail infrastructure. ...

BC: Power Lines Feeding LNG Facility Sabotaged -- A statement from a few who aim to shut down Canada

We hear the cries for help coming out across this fake nation. We see Wetsuweten, Secwepemc, and Mohawk warriors and matriarchs standing firm against the fascist state that is trying to unabashedly and continually steal their land through state militia sponsored industrial projects. We see Mikmaq and Algonquin warriors and matriarchs standing strong in defense of their right to live free from the infrastructure of this false state. ...

Rail Sabotage Against Canada

This island is riddled with train tracks: arteries that enable the flow of capital across the continent, conduits for the transport of bitumen and other products of resource exploitation, colonization, and death. The rails have always been instruments of colonial expansion. Throughout these territories, early railways displaced indigenous peoples, carried in the troops that put down uprisings, and cemented the national identity of a nascent settler state. ...

Hamilton: Rail Sabotage in Solidarity with Wet’suwet’en struggle

Using the jumper-cable and wires method described elsewhere the track signalling system on a CN mainline in Hamilton was sabotaged last week. This was done in continuing solidarity with Wet’suwet’en hereditary chiefs and land protectors. Work on TC Energy’s Coastal GasLink pipeline continues without the consent of the chiefs and despite the Memorandum of Understanding signed by the chiefs with BC and Kanada. the colonial governments and capitalist industry do not indicate that they will respect the sovereignty of the Wet’suwet’en. ...

Ontario: Three Railway Sabotage Actions in Solidarity with Land Defenders

It seems worth sharing that we have managed to shut down, (if only for a few to several hours), different rail lines in Southern Ontario using the ol’ copper wire technique. We did this three separate times targeting a junction in Milton, on lines that connect Kitchener-Waterloo to Toronto and Burlington. Using paper maps to follow where lines go, we had fun finding places to act with most impact. We learned more about how this was done following some of the other informative and inspiring posts here on North Shore. ...

Alberta: Reportback on Pipeline Sabotage Behind Enemy Lines

before the sun rose in the early early morning of 02/20/2020 we took direct action against pipeline infrastructure in Acheson AB outraged by the Reactionary Colonial Mounted Pigs invasion of sovereign Wet’suwet’en territory and in solidarity with the Secwepemc we decommissioned a section of pipe that the klanadian state (financers of this project) had left sitting in the open air with little defense solidarity means attack ...

High-Capacity Rail Line Sabotaged

A few nights ago, an anarchist settler sabotaged CN’s main transcontinental rail line. If TC Energy wanted to transport anything from southern Ontario or further east to CGL sites in BC, it’s likely that this they’d use this line. I was careful to choose a secluded site since it would take longer to work alone. I used the copper wire method described here. To ensure a good connection, I used steel wool and vinegar to remove rust from the tracks. I think the disruption was successful because wire sparked when I connected the tracks. I left quickly – you should still get out as soon as you can, even if you don’t feel stressed or rushed – and went home. This action was easy to do, even for a completely inexperienced person. ...

Hamilton: Simultaneous Rail Sabotage at Bottlenecks in Solidarity with Wet’suwet’en Land Defenders

A decade ago in a move that has inspired many, Wet’suwet’en people reoccupied their unceded territories as a way to begun healing and ensuring the land is protected in the ways she needs to sustain Wet’suwet’en people’s lives, practices, and continued existence in their traditional territories. A year ago the RCMP violently invaded those territories to provide access for industry. One week ago, the canadian state criminalized Anuk’ nu’at’en – Wet’suwet’en hereditary law – by granting an injunction which criminalizes Indigenous people and their allies should they protect the Yintah from the destructive forces of industry. ...

Migrant Prison: Nighttime Sabotage at Lemay Company Headquarters

On the night of April 14th, we paid a visit to Lemay’s headquarters in St. Henri to make a contribution to the struggle against the construction of a proposed new migrant prison, set to open in 2021 in Laval, QC. Lemay is a major architecture firm involved in designing the prison. We shut off access to the building by gluing all the locks, smashing the electronic sensors that permit access to the building by key cards, and u-locking door handles together at multiple entrances. The garage doors were blocked by a combination of spike strips and smoke bombs, which were rigged to go off if the garage doors opened. We assume that employees and company clients had a hard time accessing the building the next day, and hope they will continue to feel the effects of escalating actions against them and others involved in the project. ...

Sabotage during the G7 Summit

The last G7 was held in La Malbaie, in Quebec, the 8th and 9th of June 2018 in the Charlevoix castle. While the entire area was heavily secured, which we don’t doubt, power also took care to reinforce its critical infrastructures, including cell phone network coverage (with a $15M contract with Bell for the installation of 13 cell phone relays), but also the installation of fiber optic cable in this depopulated and slightly preserved zone of La Malbaie (with a $6M contract with Bell), so that the heads of state could enjoy high speed internet during the summit. ...
