COME TO OTTAWA MAY 28th, 7AM AT THE EY CENTRE TO SHUT DOWN CANSEC

CANSEC is an annual weapons trade show that has taken place in Ottawa since 1989 as ARMX and as CANSEC since 1998. CANSEC is promoted as “Canada’s leading defence, security and emerging technology event” when in reality, it is a marketplace for mass death. The companies invited to this event fuel genocide, occupation, theft and destruction of land from Palestine to Lebanon, Iran, Yemen, Sudan, Congo, the Philippines, and Wet’suwet’en territory.

Anonymous submission to MTL Counter-info

A week of student strikes having just ended, this is a claim for a series of direct actions that spanned the course of the past two years including three nocturnal attacks. Pieces of Concordia University infrastructure were destroyed at a variety of sites. Based on their own estimates these damages cost the school hundreds of thousands of dollars.

These attacks were not done because of Concordia’s investments or ties. This was all done because of their attempts to pound their students into submission. These nocturnal attacks are being announced to erase any doubt in the simple minds of the university administrators who will do anything and waste all their money and resources just to chase after some authoritarian fantasy of an obedient consumer-student, administrators who have minds that are obsessed with their own ideologies, who live in echo chambers where their rich friends cheer them on and leave them out to dry when they see no results, and who throw tantrums when their perfect vision of order is disturbed time and time again despite the money they have wasted on their peanut-brained private security apparatus. We laugh at you because you waste your time on the hopeless dream of all tyrants while barely deserving such a title in your sandcastle empire. You do not understand that love for the world and the refusal to accept the abuse, brutalization, and slaughter of other humans is an eternal human tendency that will endlessly replenish the pool of people struggling for freedom. This human nature has never been stopped by such pitiable punishments and will renew itself endlessly and pour out of any and all cracks which we will make ourselves if we have to.

Action Against the Arms Industry in Solidarity with Palestine

Anonymous submission to MTL Counter-info

Early this morning, autonomous activists in solidarity with the Palestinian struggle recovered a life-size replica of an MK-84 bomb made of papier-mâché and set it on fire near the Port of Montreal, on Notre-Dame Street between Dickson and Viau. The intervention of the fire and police services disrupted traffic.

The MK-84 is one of the most devastating bombs in existence. Measuring 3 meters and weighing approximately 2 tons, it is the deadliest bomb on the market, with a blast radius capable of killing up to 1 km around its point of impact. During the first year of the genocide alone, “Israel” dropped more than 14,000 bombs on the Palestinian people. This bomb is shamefully manufactured by General Dynamics, which has a subsidiary in Repentigny.

Tiohtià:ke/Montreal, August 18th, 2025 – it’s with a broken heart and rage in the stomach that autonomous militants targeted Quebecois media tonight, denouncing their biased coverage of the genocide of the Palestinian people, in particular the recent massacre of the Al Jazeera team in Gaza by the Zionist occupation forces. Tonight, we honour our martyred siblings Anas Al-Sharif, Mohammed Qreiqeh, Ibrahim Zaher, Mohamed Noufal and Moamen Aliwa of Al Jazeera, Sahat Media journalist Mohammed Al-Khali, Saad Jundiya, and the 262 other journalists who have been killed in this inhumane affront against the freedom of the press. This autonomous action to redecorate the office of the Montreal Gazette (MG) was also in response to the call from the Palestinian resistance, published on July 20th, 2025, calling on international activists to escalate the pressure to open channels of humanitarian aid.

Casey Goonan is the only US political prisoner from the 2024 pro-Palestine student encampments. They are an abolitionist and anarchist who has dedicated themselves to multiple forms of prisoner support work and directly engaging with incarcerated comrades. The impact they’ve made inside is prevalent, as indicated by statements from their comrades Stevie Wilson
and Hybachi Lemar
. They’ve always pushed to ensure an understanding of Black struggle and revolt as central to their abolitionist work, and through understanding the totality of anti-Blackness the importance of an anti-police and anti-prison perspective was brought into any and all of their efforts towards liberation.

Earlier this week a group of people sabotaged Gastops’ factory in Ottawa, the only place in the world where engine sensors are produced for Lockheed’s F-35 combat jets — including the ones dropping 2,000 pound bombs on Gaza. We cut the wiring inside all of the heat pumps on the Gastops roof, locked them out with official Ministry of Health and Safety lock-out tags, shut off the gas, broke the handles for their systems, and cut the lines to their backup communication system on the way out.

The summer of Montreal came crashing into full force as the encampment movement bloomed across university campuses around the world. For many of us, it was the first time being apart of something bigger than us, challenging the status quo and experiencing a level of violence both from the institution and state. Even with all of this, and the many strides that were made, the connections that were made, we aren’t without fault and mistakes.

As the zionist entity’s siege on Gaza enters its ninth month, the now-dead People’s Circle for Palestine at UofT joins the ashes of Northwestern, McMaster, and numerous others as an exemplar of liberal cowardice in the face of a livestreamed genocide. Not only did this encampment fail to deliver on its stated goals of disclosure, divestment, and termination, it betrayed both the people that made it possible as well as the movement at large. Far from opening up new terrains of escalatory struggle, the organizers of this People’s Circle spent the sixty-three days of its existence working tirelessly to make it a remarkable case study in defanging and dismantling the budding militancy of the local movement. It perverted its own promises, violated every principle of liberatory organizing; it wasted multiple weeks sabotaging the efforts of its own comrades while thousands in Gaza continued to be murdered. It turned something that could have been revolutionary for the city’s organizing scene to a summer camp that years on will likely be remembered with nothing but shame. It was a disappointment and a disgrace.

June 6, 2024 will live long in our memories.

What happened that day was more than impressive. A riot emerged spontaneously on the McGill campus in response to police violence and a convergence of forces from the student intifada.

Since the media coverage seems to gloss over the strength of youth resistance that day, it seems important to take a look back at the day’s events.

In the night of the 29th of April anarchists started a tire fire on the train tracks in St-Henri.

At the end of October 2023, in the quietest hours of the night, a small group quickly secured a blockade to the CN rail lines in “bc”, near the Hope area.

The blockade consisted of a 100-pound iron work table vice – whose jaws were tightened directly to the rail – topped with a several hundred pound pile of chain and scrap metal.

On one side of the gigantic work-table vice was painted “FREE GAZA” in red. On the other side was painted “CGL OFF THE YINTAH”. The blockade was secured to a curving stretch of rail in the forest, near no residences. CN freight trains churn through this area multiple times per hour. The blockade was fixed immediately after a train passed, to give the most time for safe work.

Excerpt from Canadian Tire Fire #65

Since Hamas’s October 7th attack, killing around 1,400 people and taking around 240 hostages, Israel has been carrying out a massive campaign of death and destruction on the Palestinian people through a brutal siege and military offensive. Thousands of Gazans have died, over 10,500 at last estimate
, with thousands more estimated buried under the rubble of countless buildings collapsed by the bombings. Fuel has run out at many hospitals, worsening an already deadly crisis caused not only by the air and ground assault but also by the blocking of food, water, and fuel from entering the open-air prison.

Anonymous submission to MTL Counter-info

Recent years have seen intense and conflictual debates within the radical left on how to act in solidarity with marginalised and oppressed groups and on the role of allies (a word to which many, including myself, prefer the term accomplices). There is no doubt that Indigenous, Black, queer and transfeminist struggles have deeply reshaped both vocabularies and practices, greatly enriching and complexifying our thoughts and struggles. These questions have simultaneously created profound disagreements, enabled new alliances, transformed relations of force, and led to scissions. Despite certain divisions, the particular context of the past years has at least established certain relatively agreed-upon principals, and I am stunned that we need to recall these principals now, as Israel’s war against the Palestinian people demands that we once again adopt a position of solidarity.
